The disease of the Heart and It’s Cure 1
February 2, 2010
In the name of Allah the most gracious and the most merciful.
Alhamdulillah last weekend I attended a talk given by an Imam from Galway Mosque. Here I would like to share some of the input which might beneficial for us.
“Beware, in the body there is a flesh; if it is sound, the whole body is sound, and if it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt, and behold, it is the heart”-Hadith Rasulullah S.A.W: narrated by Bukhari and Muslim
In everything we do we should straighten our intention, which is to please Allah.Yes, we must have our reason of everything we do for instance we eat because we are hungry. But it would be better if we want to eat because we want to keep us healthy to do ibadah, to serve Allah. Me my self still lack of this. I need to try even harder to purify my intention in everything I do.
One day, during the prophet Muhammad S.A.W is still a life he had said
“The man who is coming here is the ahlul jannah”
Every sahabah was looking forward who was the man.Rasulullah kept on saying this in 3 separate ocassion and the same guy came. He is no more than an ordinary man.
Abdullah bin Amar( if I am not mistaken-correct me if I am wrong)
was very eager to know the quality that this man has .Why did he being guaranteed by rasulullah as the ahlul jannah.
Abdullah asked the man if he can be the guest of him( the ordinary guy) for one day.Abdullah observed carefully everything that he did. There was no different with his and other sahabah.
Then Abdullah asked him ” I have been staying with you for the whole day but there is nothing special that u have done.Would u mind to tell me what u have done that u have been entitled as Ahlul Jannah”
After that the man said “Every time before I sleep I will forgive everyone”
A simple answer from an ordinary man yet an Ahlul Jannah. To forgive is to forget.Nothing is more difficult than to forgive those who have hurt us emotionally or physically.
The strongest person is those who can forgive easily.Remembering the wound that they have caused might stop us forgiving.I am trying to forget but yet I can’t.Do pray to Allah ,that we are given the strength to forget those painful experience.
The sick heart might shield the light of the knowledge from entering.May be that is the reason why we can’t easily understand or memorise our lesson in school.
Imam Shafi‘i who is well known with his good memory once complained to Waki‘ ibn Jarrah about his poor memory. Waki’ answered: ‘Refrain from sins. Know that knowledge is a light from God. Therefore it is not granted to a sinful man.’
to be continued .Insya ALLAH
